Finally! I got around to remodeling out back room (which doubles as a laundry room). One set back in out house is the lack of storage space. No attic, no basement and tiny closets... Uhg! So, our back room has been the home for all out meaningless junk we don't have a place for. Don't judge, we all have it.
Unfortunately, all my craft supplies were in the middle of all the junk. Needless to say, the room wasn't very inspiring.
I just couldn't get the right amount of motivation to clean it up and get rid of it. That is, until we visited some friends of ours. Their house was not only new, but it was the best use of space I have ever seen. If I ever build a house, I'm stealing their plans! It was perfect. Large rooms and huge closets! A live-in basement with tons of room for toys! Ahh...
Anywho, I pondered a few weeks until I realized that I could, at the very least, make better use of the space that we have... Starting with our back room! I finally got that motivation I was yearning for and a week later, it was finally finished!! The BEST part is I spent around $200 total!! Everything else I made or already had around the house!
Here are the pictures you have been waiting for! My new craft space!
We already had this handmade bookcase. My husband bought it from a local woodworker before we were married. Now, it is the perfect home to my Cricut and Cartridges!
My walls were already painted, so luckily I had a great color to work with. I had the gorgeous teal chair in my bedroom. The coral pillow cover was just sitting in a pile, without a home. I got the coral bins from Kohls on clearance and they matched perfectly!
The table was my best thrift shop find yet! Here is the BEFORE picture:
I painted it :)
Seriously, for the antique library table and the paint, I spent around $85! I couldn't be more happy!! I saw a table identical to this one except it was in it's original wood finish and great condition... It was around $400!! I wanted something I could refinish, so this was perfect for me!
This is just a $15 bookcase from Walmart. I think it was money well spent!
Sitting on top of it are two ribbon organizers I bought a while back from Joann. I think they were on sale for $15 a piece. And that cute jewelry organizer on the right was the perfect place to hang my Scissors and tools.
I got this beautiful rug from Zulily for less than $40 including shipping! Woohoo!!
Laundry reveal to follow soon!
Any good tips for DIY craft storage?
XOXO,
Ashley
